I hear the urgency in your voice
But you miss the catch in mine.
I hear the demand in your voice
But you miss the resignation in mine.
You hear the impatience in my voice
But I miss the disappointment in yours
You hear the anger in my voice
But I miss the sorrow in yours.
Time was when the breeze would carry my whispered tenderness to you
And the sun's rays would carry your smiles to me...
I wonder today - what has drowned out our love?
